CNA Training in New Jersey

In New Jersey, a nursing assistant or aide doesn’t need to be certified in order to practice the profession. Nevertheless, becoming certified does offer its advantages. Camdem County College

Camdem County College is accredited to offer CNA training in New Jersey. The college offers an intensive program comprising of core courses such as infection control, ethics, nutrition and psychological care. Camdem County College is one of the larger community colleges in New Jersey and has several satellite centers located around the state.

CNA training program is designed to prepare students for life as a nursing assistant. The program is made up of a wide range of courses aimed at this end. Some of the topics covered during CNA training in New Jersey include;

Job Expectations

The average annual income of CNAs is $26,700 which is higher than over 50% of the other states in the country. Assistants employed within the top 10% earn an average of $34,880 while those at the bottom earn $20,650. The hourly wage ranges from as low as $9.93 to as high as $16.77. The demand for certified nursing assistants is expected to grow by 20% over the next decade with more positions being opened at nursing homes and healthcare facilities.

Free CNA Programs in New Jersey

Aspiring CNAs who are looking for free training in New Jersey have a lot of options. One, many healthcare facilities are allowed by the Board of Nursing to create their own CNA program. Those who currently have unlicensed CNAs can do so under the UAP (unlicensed assistive personnel) curriculum. Some of them hire trainees, so you can now study while earning some money. Meanwhile, health care centers that are recognized by Medicaid or Medicare are required by federal law to refund the training expenses of a certified nursing assistant if one is hired within 12 months after he has completed the program.
