CNA training programs prepare individuals for entry-level nursing assistant positions. Aside from this, CNA training is also a gateway for more high-paying careers in the healthcare industry. But what makes CNA training more advantageous is that the training inclusive, only requiring minimum educational, health, and physical requirements. Arlington Career Institute (ACI) is a family-owned school that first opened its doors in 1982. The institute is inclusive and committed to providing hands-on and comprehensive career training. Their main goal is the success of their students.

ACI’s programs are divided into two categories: legal and healthcare. Healthcare programs include Medical Assistant, Medical Office Specialist and Certified Nursing Assistant training programs. The CNA training program is accredited by the Texas Workforce Commission (Career Schools and Colleges section) and the Texas Health and Human Services’ Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP).

The program includes topics in, vital signs, bathing and dressing assistance, meal assistance, and medical procedure assistance. The focus of the program is to provide supervised basic care in a residential care facility.

There are day and evening classes. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the school campus and schedule an appointment before deciding to enroll in any of their programs. The Initial Application form can be completed online.

Admission requirements include a high school diploma/transcripts or a GED certificate, a completed Enrollment Agreement form, and a $100 enrollment fee. The tuition fee already includes the cost of textbooks, uniforms (scrubs), and the state certification exam fee. There are payment plans available.

Teamwork Career Institute, LLC

Teamwork Career Institute (TCI) is another school specializing in career training for entry-level positions. TCI focuses on healthcare programs with their Allied Healthcare Programs. There are more than 2,000 students currently enrolled in TCI catered by 28 certified instructors. Aside from classroom lecture, lab exercises and clinical experience, TCI’s training programs also include employability skills.

The Nurse Aide training program is designed for long-term and recovery care. Aside from learning basic care skills and clinical skills, students are taught to protect and promote patient rights, follow and use safety measures, hone observation and reporting skills, and effectively perform as a part of a healthcare team. The program also includes a CPR Training course.

The course length is seven clock hours. It only costs $750. This amount already includes a set of scrubs and a workbook and skill book package. The CPR Training course costs an additional $60. Students can loan the textbook or buy it for $40.

Admission requirements include a high school diploma or GED certificate, current valid ID (with photo), Social Security Card, a negative TB test result (within one year) or an x-ray (within two years), and immunizations (flu (seasonal), chicken pox, tetanus/diphtheria, and hepatitis B).
